See What I See

William Shakespeare
Edited by Owen Horsley

"Madness in great ones must not unwatched go"

Act 3, Scene 1 - Hamlet

See What I See provokes debate and discussion within audiences by exploring Shakespeare’s role in documenting mental health during his time before terms such as schizophrenia, post traumatic stress disorder, depression and addiction were even coined.

We also  have the opportunity to delve deeper into the situations that surround and prompt mental illness in the plays; Ophelia's family relationships, Lady Macbeth's trauma of losing her child and the Jailer's Daughter relationship with her sexuality.

The aim for this piece is to highlight, through Shakespeare’s language, that mental health disorders are an eternal reality of the human condition and therefore we should continue to discuss and empathize with the issue.
